Traditional monsters with a not-so-traditional view... Alien technology has endowed a team of scientists and researchers with super-human abilities - longevity, invisibility, and super speed among others. While most of the team becomes accustomed to their new abilities and use them to try to help civilization, one member betrays his friends and becomes known as von Frankenstein. A few generations down the road things come to a head.

This would be a great book for 4th-7th graders who love action and monsters - although the monsters are more super-humans than true "monsters". The storyline was a fun blend of traditional characters with new twists to their abilities and everyday 13-yr-old life.

I thought the blending of old with new was very well done - an entertaining read.

Ethan and Merit - what more needs to be said? This powerhouse couple keeps evolving, and I can never get the next book fast enough!

I cried... happy tears, but I cried. (I won't tell you why 'cause I don't want to be a spoiler. You'll have to read it to find out!)

I found this series through the recommendation of another author I love, and am SO glad I took a chance on it! I love how "human" and yet un-human these vampires are. Merit's gastronomical appetite is a huge boon toward helping you like the protagonist, and the fact that she still has ties to her human family also helps. Yet most of the characters have the ability to be completely ruthless and have planning/strategy abilities that rival Master chess players.

Then there are the other supernatural species that take up space in this world where most are not known to exist by humans. I am so glad that it is more than "just" vampires and werewolves because it helps validate the existence of vampires and werewolves in the story in my opinion. (If you are trying to convince the audience that vampires and werewolves exist why would you ignore all the other possibilities?)

Viper Game by Christine Feehan

Loved it!

I was a little worried because just before starting the book I saw a few scathing reviews about how predictable the story is and how it was just filled with sex scenes... Well, I'm guessing those reviewers either had low blood sugar or don't generally like the Ghost Walker series. Yes - there us a basic plot line - like ANY story. And, yes - there are a lot of sex scenes - a little more than normal due to Pepper's enhancements.

Wyatt & Pepper have obstacles to overcome - not the least of which is their distrust of each other - but when push comes to shove they make an impressive duo. Like all Ghost Walker couples they are stronger together than they are apart.

Can't wait to read Trap & Cayenne's story. :)

A sweet, quick read. LOVE Verity (and Frankie).

Verity uses her ghost-seeing ability to help a shop owner and a lost love all at the same time. This is a great "gap-filler" between full-length stories.

Quin, John, and Shinobu - three young, idealistic individuals with intertwined lives. All have been training for several years to become revered Seekers - people who right wrongs for society. But, all is not as it seems and they are in for some eye-opening experiences. There are several twists and turns to this story that may surprise - and even shock you.

I loved how the story is told from the points of view of several of the characters which helps give some insight into the decisions and actions of those characters that you might not otherwise get.

I tend to read paranormal/urban fantasy almost exclusively at this point so this book was a change of pace for me. Overall the storyline and telling of it are well-crafted, and could be read by most 11-13 year olds without much issue.

After months of honeymoon - and no new demons - in Greece, Lizzie knows an entire holiday without problems is less than likely to happen. She has plans to celebrate with her grandmother's biker crew with hopes that things will go well. But, as usual, a demon decides to intrude!

Sarcastic comment, hot sex, holiday hijinks, and demon slaying ahead!

I LOVE Lizzie's attitude and ability to turn any situation for the positive!

Imagine... 17 years old, missing father, erratic mother, best friend has moved across town from the house next door, and NOW a gorgeous, mysterious guy moves in to your BFF's former home. Strange happenings are only the beginning for Raine!

With a strong Norse-based mythology Ednah has created a fun, fast-paced read about coming of age, and learning not everything is as you've been led to believe. This book grabbed me from the get-go, and was so awesome I had to start the second book minutes later!

I've just downloaded it to my daughter's Nook, and can't wait to hear what she thinks of it!

Wow! Great book! Can't wait to read more in this series!

There's a mystery to be solved and spirits to be "tamed". From Verity's spunk (and unusual pet) to Ellis's down-to-earth attitude this story grabs you from the start and makes you want to keep reading. She leaves her fiance at the altar and that's only the beginning of her troubles!

I can normally tell you "who-dun-it" long before the end of the story, and this one took me by surprise!
