This series does NOT disappoint! It makes me hope the next book is close on the horizon!
Another "bridge" novella, this story is a fairly quick read. So far the Nightfall Chronicle have told the story from Scarlett's point of view - with a minor detour to see Zorin's side of things. Now we get to see an important part of the overall story from Corrine's point of view.
Kai is gone. Corrine is trying to find her place in the world as a nephilim while hiding this from her twin brother, Wytt. The family funeral for Kai has all ready taken place at Castle Vianney, but the family has now flown to London for the official funeral to take place. En-route King Varian lays Corrine's second official responsibility as future queen on her shoulders - an arranged marriage to save face for state reasons. Her first?
