My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Super cute and quick read! Verity manages to get Frankie to help a little boy out with his dog issue. Despite being short this story made me chuckle... and tear up. Well worth the read! :)

Deader Homes and Gardens by Angie Fox

Deader Homes and Gardens (Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries, book 4)Deader Homes and Gardens by Angie Fox
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Verity and crew are back - and trying to puzzle out a century-old curse!

In this installment, Verity has given up on her graphic design business, and is now trying to make ends meet as a ghost hunter. Things have never been better between her and Ellis. Even Lucy is enjoying the new life they've got going... especially since Ellis is teaching her new tricks! When Verity lands her first ghost hunting job at the locally renowned haunted estate of Rock Fall things certainly seem to be looking up. But, nothing is ever as easy as that when ghosts are involved.

This book was my favorite from the series so far. Angie managed to mix the mystery, romance, and adventure in a truly inspired way throughout this book. Check it out, and see if you can figure out who the culprit is before they reveal themselves!

I haven't managed to make it all the way through a children's book in a while, but this one?! Wow! I mean, what's not to like? Chocolate, young spies, adventure, mystery... If I could have kept my eyes open longer at night this would have been finished much faster, but alas - life gets in the way.

This was a VERY well-written story. I am planning to go back and read the first book in the series as soon as I have a chance - I hadn't read it yet so you do not need to have read the first book to enjoy the second. This plot is reminiscent of a cross between Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and a Nancy Drew/Hardy Boy adventure.

I love how the story is told from varying points of view so that you get a more well-rounded idea of the details, and the verbiage is very detailed letting your imagination paint a vivid picture as you read. I would strongly recommend this series to any fans of the aforementioned series as well as any youngster with an imagination. ;)

Verity & Frankie are up to it again! Frankie has become increasingly upset regarding his "grounding" while Verity has been putting more energy into trying to get her graphic design business back up to par. When her best friend's uncle gives her a chance to get her business up and running again she jumps on the opportunity,... and - as usual - ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time.

When circumstances point to the possibility of a ghost being the culprit Verity and Frankie join forces with Ellis to try to get to the bottom of the caper and ghostly craziness ensues!

I love the zany and fun action in this series! Verity's circle of friends (and LUCY!) help keep you on your toes no matter which story you are reading!
